I LOVE LAVENDER!!!! There, I said it!

I love the color, I love the herb itself, I love it desserts, I love it in drinks and cocktails, I love it aromatherapy, in body care and of course home fragrance.

Anytime there's a candle with lavender notes in them, I have to buy it or at the least give it a good sniff. I can say with the utmost accuracy that very the very beginning of my BBW obsession, I have own almost every every lavender based candle on the market. Needless to same, I was extremely excited for the prospect of having an all lavender and nothin but the lavender collection as they did with rose, pine and (waaaayyyy back in the day, eucalyptus) That said, I was too excited about the scent choices in the collection; there were really only 3 candles that caught my eye - Seaside Lavender, Blueberry Lavender Lemonade and Lemon Lavender Shortbread.  SL disappeared fairly early on and BLL followed not long after but LLS remained..clearly this must have been a sign.LLS sounded right up my alley as it combines 2 things that I really enjoy - lemon and lavender is always a winning combo and shortbread is one of my favorite kinds of cookie so yeah, win-win! That said, I hemmedandhawed about getting it, vehemently sticking to my anti-online purchase stance as well being miffed at there being no good sales or coupons for the longest time. My bf, in a life's too short devil may care flight of fancy, ended up just buying one in his most recent purchase. I'm glad he did, cuz is kinda amazing!

So scent-wise, LLS smells pretty legit; it's one of the few bakery scents from BBW that smells accurate. If I had to describe this is the simplest way, I way say think take Tea & Biscuits from last Christmas mix in a bit of Key Lime Pie and a hint of Lavender Marshmallow and you got yourself LLS.

Let's break it down...

You get a very accurate "shortbread" bakery note; it has a sweet vanilla base and a buttery savoriness. The lavender is pleasantly subtle...which is kinduva good thing as there was a pinch too much (just like in real life), it would've made this smell too soapy. The lavender feels very bakery; think of the lavender note that's in Lavender Marshmallow - sweet, soft, mellow, with a hint of astringency and it plays nicely against the sweet vanilla. When you sniff this, you do get the sense of a sprinkle of dried lavender buds on a cookie. And the lemon...and there is something that suggests lemon but I'm not sure if it's actually actual lemon oil. There's a lack of acidity and tartness that suggests otherwise. My guess is verbena - note commonly used in fragrance either to enhance or replace actual lemon. I also get a hint of something vaguely lime-ish which combined with the vanilla that gives me major Key Lime Pie vibes. And it has a bit of that Fruity Pebbles-like quality that almost all of BBW's lime/lemon/verbena scents have. Lastly, as I said earlier lemon (and/or verbena) is a winning combination and said combination reminds of a now forgotten failed test from way backintheday that I loved - Fleur de Provence

As sound as I sniffed LLS, I had take out Fleur de Provence from my sniff only collection and have a whiff for nostalgia and reminiscing better days.... le sigh. Anyway, these are definitely NOT the same but have a similar vibe - that Fruity Pebbles-esque verbena note with lavender always brings a smile to my face.

In conclusion, this candle is absolutely gorgeous and I'm so happy to have it around to sniff occasionally at my leisure. For me, in my most humblest of opinions, this candle feels very spring-ish, maybe early summer-ish but as we're deep in the dog days summer and creeping closer and closer to fall, I'm just not in the mood to burn it; spring 2021, it's on! Speaking of spring 2021, I think this would be a good addition to a spring collection, like a Sweet Shop-esque type of collection, AND actually available in stores. While it seems that "testing" is being done online hence why this whole lavender collection were online exclusives. That said, I think this particularly candle, by virtue of being an entirely NEW scent that's actual GOOD, has proven itself worthy enough to be in an in store collection.

Now for the time being, is worth getting LLS online? I say HELL YEAH. If a bakery scent manages to get high praise/ringing endorsement from me, you know it's worth getting! If bakery is your jam and/or you're a lavendephile like me, then this absolutely has your name on it. Get it while you still can before it disappears and fall takes over.

.....I heard a rumor this weekend, all 3wicks will be...wait for it....$11.95!!! Now I don't know if this sale extends to online as well BUT if it is, this might be your time to stock up!
