RANDOM POST OF THE DAY: Bronzeblogger's Fall Scent Wishlist

Well SAS is finally almost over..thank gawd; it's the main reason I haven't written on here lately cuz I just haven't had anything to talk about. We're slowly but surely approaching that time when fall scents start to appear in test stores...which brings me to the main point of this post - past scents that I would love to see this fall.

Apple Crumble
Last Seen: Summer SAS 2014 online

It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever why BBW keeps sleeping on this scent. Apple Crumble is both autumntastic and fallgasmic; one whiff well instantly put you in the mood for fall. And there are some of us who aren't on the pumpkin spice bandwagon and prefer to give apple cinnamon more love and AC delivers! You get a nice green Granny Smith apple note (when's the last to you've sniffed that at BBW), just the right amount of spice and a dollop of whipped, creamy vanilla to smooth and mellow things out. Those of you who loved Warm Apple Pie, ohhh this is soooo much better!

Pumpkin Carving
Last Seen: 2015

I will NEVER understand BBW's (and the basic bitches of America's) obsession with Shit Cinnamon Poopkin. Folks make SCP sound like it's the ultimate fall pumpkin scent. WRONG! That title goes to Pumpkin Carving. BBW has always treated PC like the ugly red-headed stepchild and I don't know why because it smells so good..and that's coming from someone who is not a big fan of pumpkin spice anything! Now does PC smell like straighup pumpkin? Eh, not really...although who would want that? However, it does smell a whole heckofalot more authentic than SCP. PC is without a doubt one of the ultimate fall classic scents of all time and the perfect for scent for Halloween.

Pumpkin Pie
Last Seen: 2016

Finally, after years of being behind other candle companies, BBW creates a pumpkin pie and it's actually pretty darn good. What does BBW do? Shelves it and forgets it and continues to shove Shit Cinnamon Poopkin in our faces.  Come on, it's not fall..particularly late fall around Thanksgiving and into Christmastime without pumpkin pie!
Cranberry Pumpkin
Last Seen: 2015 (one hit wonder)

BBW has a really bad habit of creating a new and amazing scent that knocks everybody's socks off and then they just forget about it. That was the sad fate of Cranberry Pumpkin. At first, there wasn't much buzz because the scent sounded so basic - cranberry and pumpkin, who cares?!That all changed once everyone started sniffing it. It just smelled quintessentially fall, particularly late fall between Halloween and Thanksgiving. I made the mistake of not stocking up because I was sure that it would return and that was a mistake; if it came back, I won't be making same mistake twice.

Spiced Pumpkin Cider
Last Seen: 2014 (one hit wonder)

*sigh yet another candle regret. I thought it would come back but of course it didn't..which makes no sense cuz you gotta have a cider scent for fall. Now BBW did have a cider scent back in the Slatkin days that was a fall staple...then it disappeared then we got this and it was sooooo much better; SPC legit smelled like authentic perfectly mulled apple cider. Now there was a tiniest hint of what could possible be "pumpkin" but it such a faint and unimportant note and was only put in the name for marketing; if does come back, PLEASE take "pumpkin" out of the name!

Tailgate
Last Seen: tested/failed 2013

Now I know we saw this scent back in 2014 BUT the 2014 version was a totally different scent that the original one that tested and failed. The "Tailgate" most BBW'ers remember was a repackage of "Mad about Madrid"..or what we know as"Tobacco Flower" .. and yes, it did smell manly aka "cologney" but didn't smell like football. The original test version most certainly did; it smelled like the picture on the label - you could smell the leather of the football, the cool crisp autumn air clinging the sweaty mens' Banana Republic sweaters, the uprooted grass and earth from tackling. It was just a really sexy ass scent! We need more conceptual/outdoorsy and manly scents for fall and the 2013 Tailgate would be a welcome addition.

Peppered Plum
Last Seen: 2017

2017, particularly the fall, was such a disappointment but there was a glimmer of hope in the darkness - Peppered Plum. I sniffed it and had my first nosegasm in who knows how long. As unique as this scent was and how popular it was, it would be a crime and a sin for it not be re-released..but as we know, BBW loves to play games with newly created and seemingly popular scents. Having learned from past mistakes, I made it a point to stock up but I would still buy more if it came back because it's that damn good; it's just so unique and elegant and lush and sensual. If it does return, the name should be changed; BBW was really obsessed with calling everything "peppered" that year. Call it "Mulled Plum Wine" or "Saffron & Plum" or something vague but autumnal like "Autumn Midnight"
Autumn Day or Autumn Night
Last Seen: 2016 (AD) 2014 (AN)

I take a minute to get around to liking Autumn Day but by the time I was ready to give it try, it was gone. Instead, we got Autumn Night, which was basically a spicier and smokier version of Autumn Day - same basenotes. I would be perfect content with either version coming back; again, we need more conceptual and outdoorsy scent for fall.

Pumpkin Caramel Latte
Last Seen: 2014 (was WB exclusive in 2015)

I really wish BBW would stop playing games with this damn scent! Now it was a fall staple every fall since it's debut in 2011, then for whatever reason they made it a WB exclusive in 2015 and after that, it disappeared. Then they started repackaging it in seasons where it didn't belong - Maple Cinnamon Pancakes at Christmas time and Creme Caramel in late spring/early summer. Just stop it BBW! Stop repackaging and keep it as Pumpkin friggin Caramel friggin Latte in the damn fall where it belongs!

Pumpkin Fireside
Last Seen: 2016

Now I'm not really the biggest fan of fireside type scents and I initially had little no interest in this scent until (after my fireside loving boyfriend's insistence) I took it home and burned it. It's such a welcome change to the fan favorite Marshmallow Fireside  and is the perfect blend of wood, smoke and spice. And since it was WB exclusive, it would be nice if everyone got a chance to try this one out.

Porchside Pumpkin
Last Seen: 2015

A pumpkin scent that wasn't a cupcake or cookie or marshmallow?! Crazy talk! And it had absolutely no cinnamon?! MADNESS! But such a scent existed and the very fact that it was a bakery/gourmand scent that wasn't cinnamon'ed to within an inch of it's life led to its demise. I do believe with the better promotion, PP could be a hit as well as easily give Shit Cinnamon Poop-kin a run for it's money.

Mountain Leaves
Last Seen: 2011

Much like Porchside Pumpkin, folks (cough cough the basic bitches of America) just weren't ready for manly scent for fall. Newsflash folks, there is more to fall (and the smells of fall) than apples, pumpkins and cinnamon. This smelled like hike on a forest trail heading into the mountains, which is a fall activity. I feel like folks are ready for outdoorsy non-spiced scents like ML; look how popular Sweater Weather and Flannel are!

Chocolate Bacon Cupcake
Last Seen: 2012

The very first unicorn candle - that in and of itself is a good enough reason to bring it back. Plus we need some bakery scents that it isn't apple or pumpkin. Besides who doesn't love chocolate and, more importantly who doesn't love BACON?! And yes, chocolate and bacon is a thing and has been for awhile, get with it!

Oatmeal Raisin Cookie
Last Seen: 2011

Again, we need a change; not everyone fall scent, especially bakery scents, need to be either apple or pumpkin. And who doesn't love oatmeal raisin cookies?!

Blueberry Pumpkin Patch
Last Seen: 2013

After failing once, it finally went wide the following year and the folks went wide; thanks to Tinadivalicious and Touchthefiretwice, it had garnered underground cult status and prior curiousity made it a fairly popular scent when it was released. Then it disappeared - par for the course with BBW. It deserves another chance in the spotlight...but just change the name as it smells less like pumpkin and more like cereal or granola.

Roasted Pumpkin Butter
Last Seen: tested/failed 2013

This poor scent just couldn't get a break; twice it tested and both times it failed. As they say, "third time's a charm"; give it another chance! I think the problem with this scent is marketing..which could easily be remedied by giving it a new name; it worked for Black Tie, no one gave a crap about it back when it was called Sage & Cedar. All you need is throw "cupcake" or "cookie" in the name and I promise that it'll be flying off the shelves

Pumpkin Sugared Doughnut
Last Seen: 2015 (one hit wonder)

I still stand my initial opinion that this candle smelled like hot toejam while burning but if BBW brought back that right smelling batch that everyone else got and loved, I'd be willing to give it another try. So many people have been clamoring for the return of this scent, give the people what they want!
Radiant Red Maple
Last Seen: 2015 (one hit wonder)

I am NOT fan of this scent by any means but lot of other people were. Again, give the people what they want. If BBW does bring this back, I hope they change the name cuz there's NOTHING about this scent that suggests "maple"; call it something lik  "Autumn Fireside" or "Orchard Bonfire" "or "Sweet Applewood"

  1. Oh yay, you did this post! I'm so happy! I was shocked when I saw Radiant Red Maple on this list, but then I saw your comments about it lol. Out of everything on this list, I would most love to see Roasted Pumpkin Butter come out again, it was my FAVOURITE! My babysitter had one on her foyer table (long after she was done babysitting me, but I was friends with her daughter by then lol) and I LOVED that candle. And I've never smelled Mountain Leaves, but damn, it sounds good!

But most of all, I agree that they NEED to stop pushing sweet cinnamon pumpkin. It's so gross!

  2. These, plus Pumpkin Coconut, which I acknowledge is totally a basic bitch scent, and not pumpkiny, but it smells like my grandma's ranger cookie recipe. It plus the oatmeal Raisin, pumpkin butter, Apple crumble, and chocolate bacon cupcake make a cute little bakery fall collection.

    1. I wish they would go back to doing fall bakery collection instead of all pumpkin collections

    2. As someone who almost exclusively buys the bakery/gourmand scents, I wholeheartedly agree that I would love to see a fall bakery collection. Plus I sadly never got to sniff Apple Crumble, but your description alone smells like my dream candle. Oatmeal Raisin Cookie and Chocolate Bacon Cupcake are also intriguing. Hopefully BBW hears your call!

  3. I'm of course delighted at your inclusion of Autumn Day/Autumn Night :) Fingers crossed you are heard! All of these sound amazing...
