NEWNESS UPDATE: Even More Summer 2018 Test Candles; SAS Surprises

I have to admit, BBW is pleasantly surprising me with how on the ball they are lately; dare I say they're actually listening to us and getting their proverbial shit together? It certainly seems that way and I am here for it.

Following the popularity of their recent Boardwalk collection, there are even more awesome things heading our way

First we're getting a collection summertime drink inspired scents. So far the only returning scent in this collection is Watermelon Lemonade (eyeroll). New scents include...

Root Beer Float - Root Beer, Vanilla Ice Cream, Dollop of Whipped Cream (hopefully this is the same Root Beer Float from backintheday)

Coconut Water - Coconut Milk, Creamy Vanilla, Pineapple (this is appears to be the grand return of a little known one hit wonder from the Slatkin era 

Banana Split Milkshake - Sweet Banana, Chocolate Sauce, Cherry on top (this could be a re-working of Slatkin's Ice Cream Shop with an added banana note but hopefully it's a new scent altogether)

Summertime Soda Pop - Crisp Lime, Zesty Lemon, Splash of Soda

So as you may or may not know, Summertime Soda was one of the ultimate unicorn candles. Back in 2013, Touchthefiretwice's review had everyone's mouth watering for it..and of course, it didn't go wide. In a sheer stroke of luck and me being at the right place at the right time, I happened to find a 4oz of it during SAS. However, like an idiot, I completely burned it down and threw away the remains naively optimistic that it would come. Nope so much.

Fast forward several years later and Summertime Soda Pop appeared on social media..and the fans went wild' the excitement and intrigue were palpable. But the question remains - is it the same the Summertime Soda from backintheday? The answer is..YES! It's been verified, it is indeed the same Summertime Soda that most of us knew and loved.



BBW finally realized that they were jumping the shark with their obsession with quote candles (and stealing other artist's intellectual/creative property was super wrong and social media will always call them out on it). That said, it seems they are dialing back on the quotes and saving them for special occasions, such as...

I'm glad to report this is the grand return of the failed test scent from the Sweet Shop collection, Pink Lemonade    . For whatever reason, PLPC didn't come back when round 2 of Sweet Shop came back for SAS so I'm glad it's back. This will be the one solitary quotes candle that I will ever buy.

ADDENDUM: Coincidentally, I posted awhile back on social media that for a Happy Birthday candle, they should either repackage Tequila Lime Cupcake  or PLPC. Looks like BBW listened



Finally, after a 3 year hiatus, Destination candles are back with BBW taking us to various vacation spots. Returning scents are

Iceland ~ Frozen Lake (same Frozen Lake from last winter)


Thailand ~ Coconut Basmati (YASSS! Thai Coconut Basmati from the Test Lab collection was sooo good)

London ~ Tea & Lemon (aka London Calling)

New scents in this collection include...

Paris ~ Cafe Bouquet -Espresso Beans, White Tuberose, Bergamot Zest (I guess BBW got tired of repackaging Paris Cafe finally as this is, from what I've heard, an entirely new scent) 

Italy ~ Cannoli & Chocolate - Fresh Made Cannoli, Dusting of Sugar, Sweet Milk Chocolate (reworking of Hot Cocoa & Cream? word on the street is it's a new scent altogether)
