NEWNESS UPDATE: Even More Spring 2018 Candles *UPDATED

Ok so have a seat and relax cuz there's a lot to discuss...


Well y'all, it's that time again... every year around this time, we get a beachy, tropical, island getaway, vaguely Hawaiian-ish collection...and this year is no exception.

A First Look mailer was sent out a few nights ago introducing this upcoming tropical floorset with a slew of basic bitchy bodycare, new handsoap with monoi oil  and a set of island getaway inspired candles...which for whatever reason they were making a huge deal about the graphics/labels which honestly weren't just ok but nothing groundbreaking or exciting

So there's 2 new scents in this collection...

Pineapple Sunrise - Juicy Island Pineapple, Crisp Persian Lime, Warm Coconut Musk (from what I've heard, not only is it nice but it's actually new)

Salt Flower - Salt Ocean Air, Coastal Orchids, Golden Sea Rays (Beach Orchid from last summer?)

And there's one "new" scent in wf bulb only..

Island Reef - Eucalyptus Waves, Tropical Citrus, Bright Mint Leaf (I thought this might be Bergamot Mint from last year but I've had folks tell me that this smelled like Frozen Lake)

Also this candle popped up on BBW's IG account...

No word if Coastal Citrus is a failed scent or is gonna be a late release

Returning scents include Waikiki Beach Coconut, Mango Mai Tai, Ocean Driftwood and Island Margarita

Also new scents have been added to the beachy/tropical collection that it's in stores now; the ones that popped up after SAS. - Fiji White Sands aka Tiki Beach with grapefruit and Mango Dragonfruit.

There's also side mini collection of mason jars (I will be a very happy homo when BBW gets over this soy wax/ side mini collection/mason jar craze they're in) inspired by far off vacation locales

Havana - Myrrh, Peppercorn, Black Amber (Havana Heat? Myrrh? Incense?)

Blue Lagoon - Icelandic Lavender (btw not a thing), Mint, Sea Salt (Mint?)

Rio de Janeiro - Mango, Sweet Orange, Pina Colada (Mango Coconut Cooler?)

Bondi Beach - Tiare Flower, Banana Leaf, Vanilla (Pink Sands & Petals?)

So back last fall, there was a collection called "Fragrance Lab" that tested and failed. Well it looks like there's a part 2 (the "Bath & Body Works Test Lab") and it's actually going wide and should be in (select?) stores for the next floorset

Blue Geranium ~ Aromatic Blend 004 - Geranium Petals, Ground Cardamom, Lush Vetiver, Fresh Fig (Iris? Bonfire Maplewood? Acorn & Fig/Autumn Day?)

Sunny Fig ~ Fresh Blend 007 - Sweet Sierra Fig, Bright Citrus, Aromatic Fern, Blonde Woods (Slatkin's old Fig Leaves?)

Exotic Lychee ~ Fruit Blend 008 - Chinese Lychee, Red Raspberry, Creamy Coconut, Luh Passionfruit

Thai Coconut Basmati ~ Gourmand Blend 009 - Creamy Coconut, Saffron, Basmati Rice, Vanilla Bean (Slatkin did have an old scent called Coconut Rice with saffron, coconut and basmati rice notes..hmmm)

Turmeric and Tarragon ~ Wood Blend 011 - Tarragon Leaves, Palo Santo Wood, Spiced Leather, Indian Turneric

Lavender Cacao ~ Gourmand Blend 012 - English Lavender, Chamomile Blossom, Rich Cacao, Vanilla Bean (I thought that this could be Lavender Macaroon from backintheday but it could just be a re-working of the old Lavender Chamomile scent)

Garden Arugula and Verbena ~ Green Blend 014 - Arugula Leaf, Italian Olive Oil, Dewy Verbena, Watercress (Slatkin's very old Herb Vinaigrette?)

Pimento Wood ~ Wood Blend 017 - Pimento Pepper, Green Cardamom, Luxe Vetiver, Black Pepper (Woodland Forest? That totally smelled like peppers)

Black Pepper Kale ~ Green Blend 019 - Lush Green Kale, Black Pepper, Palo Santo Wood, Purple Leaf Basil (I got nuthin)

Sunset Pier ~ Floral Blend 021 - Neroli Blossoms, Bergamot Zest, Sea Salted Cedar, Tropical Coconut

24 Karat Gold ~ Fresh Blend 024 - Sunlit Breezes, Crisp Lavender, Moss Absolute, Chilled Eucalyptus (this sounds suspiciously like Frozen Lake from this winter)

Sriracha ~ Spice Blend 027 - Thai Sriracha, Jalapeno Pepper, Crushed Coriander, Red Chili (this is the scent that everyone seems intrigued about on social media; I can't think of anything that it could be a repackage of)

Grill ~ Smoky Blend 029 - Mesquite Smoke, Hickory Chips, Charcoal Embers, Palo Santo bark (BBW is really obsessed with palo santo wood aren't they?! This has to be the failed test scent Campfire Cookout)

Turmeric Accord ~ Earthy Blend 038 - Golden Turmeric, Black Peppercorn, Coriander, Cinnamon Bark

And there's also a mini mason jar collection (eyeroll) with a similar vibe as these test lab candles

Orange + Vetiver ~ Citrus - mandarin, vetiver, patchouli (shrugs)

Pepper + Suede ~ Fresh - sandalwood, bergamot, fern (my guess is either Peppered Suede or Villa Bergamot/Bergamot Woods/Bergamot & Suede)

Vanilla Birch ~ Warm - bourbon, vanilla, amber (same Vanilla Birch from last summer aka fruitless Vanilla Birch)

Ma-BLAH-gony STANKwood ~ Woodsy - magohany, lavender, oak (*blank stare)

Lastly with Easter right around the corner and BBW has come up with blah enough to make Zombie Jesus go back into the cave 

Happy Easter ~ Cotton Candy Marshmallow (aka Strawberry Sorbet aka Strawberry Picnic aka Saltwater Taffy with a twist aka melted strawberry chapstick) is back with with its original 2015 packaging and all of the basic bitches of America are besides themselves with glee..for whatever reason

There's also a gang of minis with extremely cringeworthy unfunny punny names no doubt created by a gaggle of interns lulled out of their dorm rooms with the prospect of employment
