NEWNESS UPDATE: Summer 2018 Test Candles
So this past weekend, the latest round of summer scents appeared in test stores (cuz apparently "testing" is happening again). While I'm not a summer scent kinda guy, I must admit some of these look and sound kinda interesting.
So the first group of summer scents have a trip to the pier/walking along the boardwalk vibe. They have a wrap around label with a picture of summer beach scents and the names are typewriter font (yay, BBW must've learned their lesson due to last summer's Time New Roman debacle). At the moment, there are 2 new scents...
Sweet Summer Days ~ Watermelon Ice - Pink Watermelon, Crushed Ice, Watery Cucumber, Sugar Crystals (contrary to what the name and notes may suggest, this actually is NOT Watermelon Lemonade)
Sunkissed ~ Bronze Goddess - Shimmering Sands, Coastal Amber, Rose Gold Wood, Acacia Flower (Black Tea Rose/Golden Amber Oak?! Black Sands?)
Returning scents include Tiki Beach (Eat.Beach.Sleep.Repeat), Suntan (Bikini Weather) White Gardenia (Paradise Awaits) and Blue Ocean Waves (Ocean Lover)
Then there's a mini group that I assume is tied to the typography label group above. It has the same wrap around label with beach scents but the name is in huge Arial font (like the post SAS tropical spring candles). There's one new scent in this group...
Happy ~ Island Papaya - Tropical Coconut, Fresh Papaya, Sugarcane (this HAS to be Papaya Sunrise, same exact notes)
Returning scents include (Summer) Boardwalk and (Beach) Copper Coconut
The next collection has sort of an expat living a bungalow on a tropical beach overlooking the ocean theme. The labels have a various wicker/tied dried palm/rattan basket weaved designs. There are a bunch of new sounding scents in this collection...
Blue Bungalow - Swaying Palms, Salty Breezes, Golden Rattan Cane, Sweet Grapefruit (Beach Day? Sparkling Waves?)
Sea Salt & Linen - Sundried Linen, Warm Driftwood, Sea Salt, Soft Lavender (Comfort ~ Soft Cashmere Blankets from the Hygge collection back in the winter?)
Summer Terrace - Fresh Watermint, Crisp Pear, Citrus, Warm Musk (there was a failed test called Island Hideaway with essentially the same notes. This also could be Bloom or Provence Garden)
Sunwashed Citrus - Sugared Lemons, Mandarin, Juicy Pineapple, Agave Nectar (Capri Citron...again...)
Returning scents include Cactus Blossom and Coconut Sandalwood
The last collection is really interesting and absolutely gorgeous. It has a underwater/mermaid/Lost City of Atlantis vibe to it. The tumbler has tiled together iridescent nacreous seashell/abalone bits and looks very polished and elegant. New scents include..
Mermaid Lagoon - Shimmering Ocean Water, Tiare Flowers, Sea Mist (word on the street this Happily Ever After/White Cedarwood?)
Lavender Sea - Soft Lavender Waves, Vanilla Sea Foam, Coconut Water (I thought for sure this was Lavender Coconut but apparent it's not)
Returning scents include Ocean Mist & Therapy, Pineapple Mango and Ma-BLAH-gony Stankwood
