While looking around the store one day, my bf and I stumbled upon this candle. After looking at the notes, we both didn't know what to think. Then we smelled it…we both had an orgasm in store!!! From that point on, we bought as many as we could and lit them as much as we could. One day, like two crackheads, we went to the store cravin for some more these only to realize much to our dismay that they were no longer being sold. We were almost in tears! Luckily, I heard thru the grapevine that because it was such a hit with fans, BBW will bring it back as a year-round scent. With that said, we’re both patiently await its return.

Anyway, this scent is sooo sexy; it smells like a sexy older man, like a cologne George Clooney or one of the guys from "Mad Men" would wear. This is the sort of high-end and sophisticated scent that I really enjoy; it’s a rich, deep, and sensual blend. You can smell the citrusy bergamot and the black pepper gives it a warmth and spice. And if you smell really hard, you can get a whiff of the lavender note that nicely wraps the main two notes together.

The candles burned like a dream; it had thick wicks which lead to nice dancing flames and an even wax pool. And the throw is absolutely perfect! The wallflowers bulbs on the other hand were a let down; not strong at all.

The verdict...most women won't like this; most would considered this to be too "cologne-y" Because it's so warm and sensual, this would be better for the bedroom. And this is perfect for a man’s home office or mancave.

I can not wait for this to come back!!!!!

  1. I have smelled this candle often. It always seemed a little strong to me. I am sensitive to smells, so I thought it would give me a headache. I debated buying it and always left it in the store; then I found your blog. Your review was the catalysis for this purchase.

    But...

I changed my mind in the store and picked out two other candles Watermelon Lemonade and Lemon Mint Leaf (which smells like kerosene btw). I still couldnt stop thinking about Black Pepper Bergamot, so I returned the other two (not to mention they were wretched) and purchased it like I had originally intended to do.

This smell is sensual, warm, inviting. It wafts through the air like fog, gently overtaking you, but it is not overpowering or loud. Amazingly, it manages to fill up entire rooms, but does not violate my sinuses. I can be in the same room and burn this candle for 3 or 4 hours with no problems.

I am sorry that it took me so long to purchase it. I could easily be on my 4th or 5th candle by now!

  2. I could've told you not to get those two candles and saved you some time lol

I lot of people worry about Black Pepper Bergamot being too overwhelming and headache inducing...until they buy it and burn it and then they change their tune. It's very warm and enticing and it does fill the room without overwhelming you. it's just such a great scent all around, BBW should keep this scent around all year long and not just in the fall.

Anyhoo, I'm glad you're enjoyin BPB and that what I had to say swayed your decision a bit :D

  7. Wow, I just found this blog! Is the Black Pepper Bergamot now seasonal, or something? I burned my last one not too long ago, went online to buy more, and...none to be found. Well, unless you want to spend a fortune on EBay or Amazon. Help me out...will I be able to purchase a truckload from B&BW in the near future?? PS: Anything that smells like a sexy man is ok in my book!!

    1. Yay, glad you found me!

As for Black Pepper Bergamot, it has always been seasonal; for years after it debut, it was a fall scent only. Lately for whatever reason it has only been coming out for spring. I have no clue as to whether it'll come back or not in the near future; that is up to the whims of BBW corporate only. Unfortunately Ebay or Amazon or Mercari are your only options for Black Pepper Bergamot I'm afraid. In the meantime, look through my blog for sexy man candles as those are my favorite, search for "mandle"
