NEWNESS UPDATE: Fall 2019 Scents Part 2 ~ Second Phase

I dunno about you guys, but I have been kinda bored with BBW lately. I haven't been inside a store since last month, I'm barely on social media and have had little to nothing to write about on here. I think BBW shot their proverbial wad too early for fall this year. What was supposed just a preview was essentially a full launch with all first phase collections being released. While it was exciting at first and already soooo much better than previous fall collection in the past 4-5 years, after awhile things got stale. That's the problem with releasing so many collections and scents all at the same time as opposed to trickling them out in a steady flow - it's all exciting and overwhelming and heady at first but eventually it's just more stuff to be bored of; people, myself included, are already over it and are ready for the next thing. Well, the next thing is coming..thank gawd!

The 2nd phase/wave of fall scents are heading our way and not a moment too soon. BBW/WB is transitioning to Halloween and Thanksgiving. The upcoming collections we'll be seeing are more classy and high end and conceptual, so conceptual/outdoorsy fans rejoice! The first phase were aiight and of course it was great seeing  returning classics like Leaves, Autumn, etc but as a non bakery/gourmand lover, there wasn't much to be excited about. This go-round, on the other hand, I'm very intrigued about.

So I'm not entirely sure when the next floorset will be as I've heard conflicting things - I've heard Aug. 19th but I've also heard Aug 26th(which makes since some recent coupons expire a day before) . Either way, I'm sure most of these scents will be trickling into stores in the next couple of days. Without further ado, let's get into these 2nd phase/wave.

First I'm gonna talk about the Halloween trio, which I believe should be in stores now and have been online for awhile. Purrfect Pumpkin aka Shit Cinnamon Poopkin is back because BBW will not rest until that damned candle is shoved down our throats as much as possible. Vampire Blood aka melted Grandma's strawberry hard candies is also back. The one "new" scent is

Ghoul Friend Dark Strawberries, Ghostly Peony, Spine Chilling Citrus (this candle is the Halloween staple Ghoul Friend pocketbac/soap in wax; said pocketbac/soap is repackage of another pocketbac/handsoap scent called Raspberry Pink Peony. What this scent has to do with Halloween and fall is beyond me...yet because of the packaging, everyone is buying like crazy..which is par for the course with the candle community lately.)

Now onto more exciting things, most of these I've already talked in past posts but it's talking about again with updated info...

The first collection I'm gonna talk about is the "Autumn Glow" Collection. These come in colored tumblers with illustrations of fall foliage and fruits in gold filigree and the scent name in a gold diamonds. New scents include...

Fresh Fall Morning - Citrus Zest, Woodland Sage, Red Delicious Apples (I thought this might be a renamed/repackaged Autumn Day but from what I've heard, it isn't but rather it's a new scent and that it's fresh and cologney)

Welcome Home - Cinnamon Sugar, Warm Apple Butter, Clove Buds, Brown Sugar (I'm still convinced this might be Cinnamon Apple Honey but no has yet to confirm or deny)

Returning scents include Gather, Frosted Cranberry, Pumpkin Pecan Waffles (why tho?), Fresh Balsam and White Pumpkin . And rumour has it that Cider Lane will be making an appearance in this collection as well.

The next collection is called the "Shimmering Woods" collection. These have either wood or stone grain tumblers with flecks of either gold or silver with the scent name in a metallic rectangle. New scents include...

Nature Walk - Creamy Sandalwood, Bergamot Zest, Juniper Berries (I'm gonna go with 2013 failed test scent Cedarwood Trail. Could also be another 2013 failed test scent Tailgate)

Fall Farmhouse - Spiced Pumpkin, Forest Pine Branch, Fresh Fall Air (supposedly very close to Pumpkin Woods but not a repackage)

Returning scents include Cranberry Woods, Mahogany Teakwood, Cinnamon Bark and Vanilla Birch

The next collection is the "Luminary Wood" Collection. These have wood grain tumbler with cutout patterns of leaves which light up like an lantern. New scents include...

Apple Weather - Fresh Farmstand Apples, Lavender Leaves, Cinnamon Bark (Not Apple Picking like I initially thought. It's a new scent said to have almost Sweater Weather vibe with apple)

Spiced Chestnut - Roasted Chestnut, Mulled Spices, Dark Rum, Barrel Aged Spiced Cider (Not Evening Hearth like I thought. Also not Chestnuts Roasting or Chestnuts & Birch)

Returning scents include Leaves, Marshmallow Fireside, Flannel and Bourbon Maple

And finally we'll be getting 2 sets of Thanksgiving themed candle.

The first is a quartet of decorative tumblers with watercolor fall foliage similar to the watercolor candles we saw back in the spring. As is almost always the case, the packaging is more exciting than the scents, which are

  • Harvest Gathering
  • Shit Cinnamon Poopkin (*cue internal screaming)
  • Black Cherry Mer-NO
A new scent popped randomly online recently

Vanilla Sage - Frosted Sage, Fresh Pine Needles, White Lavender, Vanilla Creme (by all accounts its a new scent with an Iced Vanilla Woods vibe and heavy on the pine)

The second basic colored tumbler (one white, one grey, one black) with gold filigree label. They are...

  • Blessed ~ Pumpkin Pecan Waffles (*eyeroll)
  • Gather ~ ....Gather
  • Give Thanks ~ Shit Cinnamon Poopkin (for f***'s sake!!!!!!!!!!!!)
And that ladies and gentlemen is it for fall and then brace yourself cuz winter is coming!

    1. Wow a lot of these sound amazing! I'm actually really excited. Oh and as far as the different launch dates, it might have to do with stores being test stores. I got an email from work saying that our floorset would be August 24th/25th, unless we become a test store, in which case it will be the week before.

    1. Sorry sis, that scent is long gone. I don't see it coming back anytime soon. BBW is too obsessed with Crisp Morning Air lately
