NEWNESS UPDATE: Spring 2019 Candles Round 4 ~ Easter & Mother's Day

So more spring "newnesss" is heading our way in time for Easter and Mother's Day. I'm beginning to sound like a broken record at this point but it's nothing exciting.

So first off, we'll be getting 2 Easter themed candles in the Sweet Shop 2.0 packaging

Happy Easter ~ Chocolate Bunny - Decadent Milk Chocolate, Fresh Steamed Milk, Mini Marshmallow (now these are the EXACT notes of Hot Cocoa & Cream however there are naysayers on social media saying that it smells different so who knows)

Happy Easter White Casablanca Lily, Soft Sea Air, Sheer Hyacinth Blooms (repackage of Casabalanca Lily)


There are 3 random candles with a similar packaging as last spring's Mother's Day candles

Strawberry Poundcake - Fresh Strawberries, Golden Shortcake, Dollop of Whipped Cream (you would think this would be Strawberry Cupcake or Pink Lemonade Poundcake but nope. Apparently it's similar to Pink Petal Teacake which makes sense as it does have strawberry notes)

Crisp Green Apple - Tart Green Apple, Juicy Citrus, Sugar Crystals (total Wasabi Apple/Geen Apple Orchard)

Returning scents include Georgia Peach, Linens & Lavender, and  Honeysuckle & Freesia


Then there are a bunch of candles with black or white wraparound labels with painted on flowers. 
The only new scent at the moment is...

Southern Magnolia - White Gardenia, Fresh Magnolia Blooms, Lemon Verbena
Okay so let's talk about this candle for a bit...
So back in 2011, there was failed test scent called Magnolia. It came back the following year as "Southern Magnolia" only to fail again.

While I hope that this new Southern Magnolia is the same, I'm a bit pessimistic.
First of all, the notes are so drastically different...

Magnolia = magnolia, orange blossom, cooling greens, muguet (aka lily of the valley)
Southern Magnolia = magnolia, honeysuckle, Georgia peach

That said, BBW plays fast and loose with the notes and theyre very rarely 100% accurate. Look how different the 2 failted test version notes are yet they were confirmed to be the same scent  
However, BBW's recent trend is bringing "old" scents only for them to be totally different
So yeah, who knows. Waiting for one of my old school friends to confirm if they are the same. If they are, it will probably the only candle in this lineup that I will buy.

Returning scents include Bowties & Bourbon, Rosewater & Ivy and Casablanca Lily


Lastly, quotes are back in action. There are 3 quotes candles for Mother's Day and they're actually kind cute looking. Too bad the scents are whack as hell!
Best Mom Ever = Pistachio Ice Cream
Mom, You're Amazing = Watermelon Lemonade
Love You = Fresh Cut Lilacs

With these crappy sales and lackluster scents lately, I haven't spent any money at BBW. I dunno about y'all, but my bank account is definitely breathing a sigh of relief!

    I just got the Happy Easter Chocolate Bunny candle and I love it! I wanted it because I enjoy the chocolate/hot cocoa note in my Hot Cocoa & Cream WF, and this candle had similar notes. While this candle smells really good, the marshmallow doesn't come through as well as it does in the hot cocoa & cream. It's more chocolate w/ less marshmallow. This is definitely hot cocoa chocolate too- not candy bar chocolate. It makes a great layering candle. I'm burning it w/ Yankee Candle's Berry Trifle and it's wonderful. If you want a yummy smelling chocolate candle that's perfect for mixing, pick up the Easter Bunny candle. It's my first B&BW candle and even though it costs WAY TO MUCH... I'm pretty impressed with it.

CANDLE RETROSPECTIVE: Brozeblogger's Top 20 Candles OF ALL TIME

Well dear readers, today's New Year's Eve - we're almost at the finish line and soon we'll be able to wave goodbye and not so fond farewell to the dumpster fire that was 2020. Normally, as per my own tradition, in honor of New Year's I would write a retrospective look back on the past year and list what I thought were the best new scents that were released. Obviously I couldn't do that this year - with the pandemic, I've been avoiding stores thus couldn't do my usual WALK N SNIFFs nor did I particularly buy very much as I'm not about that shipping/handling plus tax life. But as this this New Years hits a bit differently than past ones and is the beginning of a new decade, I thought I do something different. NEWNESS UPDATE: Spring 2021 Candles

 Well we made it to 2021! I personally feel like the new year started last week on January 20th; the world got a little less crazy and I feel like I can breath again. No, things are certainly not ideal and nowhere near back to the normal but it's slowly getting there. I hadn't had much to say on here lately. I didn't engage in any SAS shenanigans for obvious reasons. Besides a few wf bulbs during the most recent sale, I haven't really bought anything. I've kinda just been laying low and slimming down my collection as I'm not about the collecting/stocking up life anymore; either burning things or giving and/or selling them away.
