NEWNESS UPDATE: Fall 2020 Candles Part 5 ~ More Bakery & Miscellaneous Candles *UPDATED

Image
Wanna hear something funny and a little creepy? So not too long before I woke up this morning, I had a dream that I had a looksie at the newest round of fall candles on the website. I woke up, got myself a cup of joe, got on my phone and, without thinking, went on the BBW website...AND THERE THEY WERE, in the exact order they were in my dream. Weird, right?! Tell me that's not creep AF! At any rate, more candles popped up online this morning... Let's get the miscellaneous stuff out of the way. So Fresh Ballsack and Frosted Cranberry have been added to the WB Core fall lineup...meh. Kinda odd to be adding just those 2 scents this early. After Halloween or around Thanksgiving, maybe. Adding them need seems strange. We're also getting scents in very fancy glass tumblers - Vanilla Sage, Black Cherry MerNo , Harvest Gathering and Flannel . Why those scents,...you're guess is as good as mine. And they're all online exclusives because of course they are ...

SCENT EXPOSÉ: The Alluring Anomaly of Acorn Lane

Image
I forgot to mention in my last post that along with my 11.95 candle haul, I also bought some wf bulbs - mainly a few Vanilla Sages as well as this bad boi. When the list of this year's fall scents came out, I scanned for actual or potential newness and one name stood out - Acorn Lane. This one really intrigued me - I couldn't think of scents from falls past that this could possibly be a repackage of. Moreover, I just couldn't imagine what it possibly smell like. So as you may (or may not) know is that the acorn is the seed of the oak tree; it's also known as an "oaknut". Acorns themselves have little to no scents (although apparently the smell of acorns drives deers apeshit and deer hunter make an essence from crushed/boiled acorns to attract them). So how does something with such an extremely faint scent that only animals can really smell work in home fragrance? Could it be a repackage or reworking of Autumn Day ? After all, it's original name wh...

SHOP 'N' GO/SIT 'N' SNIFF: $11.95 Online Haul (& Cold Sniff Reviews)

Image
I know I'm preachin' to the choir here but it's been a rough couple of months with very little to nothing to look forward to and bring a much needed smile to your face. But, at the risk of sound of sounding saccharine and cliche, behind every dark cloud is a golden ray of light. After months of giving us nothing sale wise, BBW finally offered everyone a reprieve - all 3wicks being 11.95! You bet your sweet ass I took advantage of it! My bf as well! Here's the thing...so stores in my area are finally opening so my bf and I could've gone to shop in person however I'm feeling a bit anxious; the prospect of being in an enclosed space with other people and not knowing what candles have been touched or huffed would stress me out; especially if I saw anyone without a mask or pulling masks down to sniff things. So staying safely and stalwartly planted on side of caution, we both ordered online. Under normal circumstances, I'd be ranting and raving about online c...

NEWNESS UPDATE: Fall 2020 CANDLES Part 4 ~ Fall Bakery/"Fox" Collection

Image
I had a feeling something new would soon appear right after the recent infamous $11,95 sale (which I did, believe it or not, actually partake in) and I was right. First thing this morning, a new collection popped up online... As you can see, it's a fall themed all bakery collection, sort of an autumnal version of Sweet Shoppe. So yeah, bakery lovers rejoice, this bud's for you! It feels a little superfluous as there's already a bakery heavy collection. That said, I get it - most of BBW's fans are bakery lovers and fall is really BBW's time to shine as far as bakery scents go (even I tend get into bakery scents more in the fall than any other season). Bakery scents, when executed right, does make you feel good and let's face it, with as shitty as this year has been so far, we need an excuse to feel good. Why not make more bakery scents if they make people happy, right? So at first glance, it looks like we're getting a decent mix of old/returning scen...

THIS IS THE BOMB.COM (Cold Sniff Edition): Lemon Lavender Shortbread

Image
Products: candle Area used in:  living room Time Period: haven't burned yet Notes: Sugared Shortbread, Zested Lemons, Fresh Lavender Sprinkles I LOVE LAVENDER!!!! There, I said it! I love the color, I love the herb itself, I love it desserts, I love it in drinks and cocktails, I love it aromatherapy, in body care and of course home fragrance. Anytime there's a candle with lavender notes in them, I have to buy it or at the least give it a good sniff. I can say with the utmost accuracy that very the very beginning of my BBW obsession, I have own almost every every lavender based candle on the market. Needless to same, I was extremely excited for the prospect of having an all lavender and nothin but the lavender collection as they did with rose , pine and (waaaayyyy back in the day, eucalyptus ) That said, I was too excited about the scent choices in the collection; there were really only 3 candles that caught my eye - Seaside Lavender, Blueberry Lavender Lemonade a...

THIS IS THE BOMB.COM (BOYFRIEND EDITION) - Salted Chocolate Caramel

Image
Products: candle  Area used in:  living room Time Period: quarantine Notes: Gooey Caramel, Creamy Milk Chocolate, Sprinkle of Sea Salt So my bf LOVES anything caramel/toffee/butterscotch related - candy, desserts, ice cream, drinks and, you guessed it, home fragrance. Back in the good ol pre-COVID19 days  doing WALK'N'SNIFFs in stores together, he would make a beeline to the nearest caramel scented candle and start immediately Homer Simpson drooling. Yall already know how I feel about about caramel scents - I truly can not stand them (with very few exceptions) and avoid them like the plague. Speaking of plague, right around the time we both got sick at the very start of quarantine lockdown, my bf made an online order and bought a few candles as sort of a pickmeup. I had told him prior to make this order that there was a brand spanking new caramel scent that was an online exclusive; you bet your ass it made the top of the list.  Since then, a...
