Real Talk About Bath and Body Works Candles

This past weekend, my bf and I decided to take a trip to a mall a bit further out from us that we hadn't been to awhile. While we were there, we went into a WB/BBW store to take advantage of their recent handsoap sale. As I was looking around and making my mental notes for Candle Day, out of the corner of my eye I noticed the Land of Sweets collection. I figured since I was there, I might as well as give em a sniff for the sake of writing a review. *sigh So I am not one to oh and ah over packaging; for me, the look of the labels is irrelevant and the scent itself is far more important. But even I have to admit the look of this collection is ridonkulously cute. However, unlike most in the candle community, the labels are not cute enough for me to consider buying any of them or distract me from the fact the scents themselves are basic AF! So umm yeah... BBW isn't done for winter. We have a bunch of stuff heading our way in time for Christmastime. The first thing we're getting is for the bakery lovers out there - the Land of Sweets collection. Basically think Sweet Shop meets Destinations; it's a bunch of bakery inspired inspired by/associated with various vacation spots and locales. The look of the candles are kinda cute; illustrated Christmas villages, some looking the city they're inspired with some having white lids that look like dripping ice or frosting. *sigh here's the problem. The scents are boring! Once again, style over substance a lazy and uninspired marketing tactic to get money from folks who buy candles "just for the labels". Most of the scents are returning rereleases we see allllllll the time. There are only 2 new candles... So yesterday I'm in Manhattan heading to the subway to go home when I realized that I was near a BBW that was formerly closed for construction and I thought I'd check out. Much to my surprise, it had become a WB/BBW sidebyside store. I mean I should've known, the only reason a BBW store would close for construction is to make it a WB store. So umm yeah, for my fellow NYC'ers and Manhattan adjacent candle enthusiasts or out of towners make a trip to NYC, the BBW store in Midtown near Grand Central Station is now a WB store! Even better, the store was fully stocked (I guess they were trying to get that high traffic area/ Grand Central Station commuter/ out of town tourist money) with all of the newness so I got to smell everything; very convenient as that meant I didn't have to go to other WB store another day and I would get to write this review sooner.
