NEWNESS UPDATE: Land of Sweets Collection and Candle Day Surprises
So umm yeah... BBW isn't done for winter. We have a bunch of stuff heading our way in time for Christmastime.
The first thing we're getting is for the bakery lovers out there - the Land of Sweets collection. Basically think Sweet Shop meets Destinations; it's a bunch of bakery inspired inspired by/associated with various vacation spots and locales. The look of the candles are kinda cute; illustrated Christmas villages, some looking the city they're inspired with some having white lids that look like dripping ice or frosting.
*sigh here's the problem. The scents are boring! Once again, style over substance a lazy and uninspired marketing tactic to get money from folks who buy candles "just for the labels". Most of the scents are returning rereleases we see allllllll the time. There are only 2 new candles...
New York ~ Cherry Cheesecake - Creamy Vanilla, Juicy Red Cherries, Graham Cracker Crust (confirmed to be a repackage of Frosted Cake Pop)
London ~ Tea & Biscuits - Iced Lemon, Sugar Crystals, Buttery Shortbread (surprisingly NOT London Calling / Tea & Lemon. I'm also noticing the lack of tea mentioned in the notes; said to smell very lemonadey)
Returning scents include
Paris ~ Cafe au Lait (straightup Paris Cafe)
Ski Lodge ~ Hot Cocoa & Cream
Santa's Workshop ~ Sugared Snickerdoodle
Elf Village ~ Crushed Candy Cane
Land of Sweet ~ Blueberry Sugar
There's also a mini Christmas themed collection with wraparound labels with holiday looking designs. The scents are..
Holly Jolly ~ Evergreen
calm & bright ~ Twisted Peppermint
merry christmas ~ Sweater Weather (ggrr, Sweater Weather is NOT a winter/holiday dammit!)
peace ~ Vanilla Bean Noel
Tis the Season
Lastly, there's some late additions to Nordic Home collection
Tree Farm - Crisp Pine, Warm Cedar, Spiced Apple
So at first glance, you might thing this is Tis the Season or something similar... it's not. It has been confirmed to be scent from the ill-fated Evergreen collection -Tree Farm
Yknow, I complain all the time that folks take the note description way too seriously. A change in notes does NOT mean the scent has been changed...I repeat..A CHANGE IN NOTES DOES NOT MEAN THE SCENT HAS CHANGED. Furthermore, the notes in the description are NOT the only notes in the scent; that's just not how fragrance works! There are a crapton of notes in the blend not mentioned in the notes that aren't mentioned in the description. Execs will pick notes from the blend that sound appealing and intrigue customers enough to sniff and hopefully buy. That's called MARKETING!
Rant over!
Returning additions are Holiday, Cinnamon Caramel Swirl (why?) and Marshmallow Fireside (again, why?)
All of these scents should be in stores by the end of the month. Now let's move on to Candle Day..which if you don't know is on Dec 7th with candles selling for (at the moment) $8.95
We're getting the "Home for the Holidays" collection again, 3rd time I think. If you don't remember, scents are Chestnut & Clove, Cranberry Pear Bellini, Creamy Nutmeg, Hot Buttered Rum, Red Velvet Cupcake, Merry Mistletoe, Mint Chocolate and Spice
There's another collection I believe will be available called the "Christmas Vault" collection. Scents include Fresh Ballsack, PumpkinPecan Waffles, Shit Cinnamon Poopkin, Snow Mountain Lodge, Spiced Apple Toddy, Sweater Weather (grrr), Twisted Peppermint and Winter
Finally this next collection is gonna make bakery lover cream their proverbial panties! On top of that, some of the scents may be new. This collection is the "Pop Up" Collection. They look like the fancy expensive WB candles but with glittery white snow flurries/snowflakes/stars. The new scents are...
Sugared Blueberry Donut - Fresh Picked Blueberries, Glazed Donut, Sugarcane Crystals (NOT Blueberry Pie. Supposedly similar to Blueberries & Cream)
Cereal Marshmallow Bar - Fruity Rainbow Cereal, Sticky Marshmallow Fluff, Confetti Sprinkles (said to have the same Fruity Pebbles/Trix vibe of Key Lime Pie)
The 2 returning scents are Strawberry Poundcake from last spring and Unicorn Sprinkles from the infamous online only unicorn candle collection
