NEWNESS UPDATE: Spring 2019 Candles Round 4 ~ Easter & Mother's Day

So more spring "newnesss" is heading our way in time for Easter and Mother's Day. I'm beginning to sound like a broken record at this point but it's nothing exciting. So first off, we'll be getting 2 Easter themed candles in the Sweet Shop 2.0 packaging Happy Easter ~ Chocolate Bunny - Decadent Milk Chocolate, Fresh Steamed Milk, Mini Marshmallow (now these are the EXACT notes of Hot Cocoa & Cream  however there are naysayers on social media saying that it smells different so who knows) Happy Easter White Casablanca Lily, Soft Sea Air, Sheer Hyacinth Blooms (repackage of Casabalanca Lily ) There are 3 random candles with a similar packaging as last spring's Mother's Day candles Strawberry Poundcake - Fresh Strawberries, Golden Shortcake, Dollop of Whipped Cream (you would think this would be Strawberry Cupcake or Pink Lemonade Poundcake  but nope. Apparently it's similar to Pink Petal Teacake which makes sense as it doe

NEWNESS UPDATE & RANT OF THE DAY: Spring 2019 Test Candles Take 3

A "new" collection has popped up in test stores as a spring preview - the "Farmhouse Collection" Now, with the name " Farmhouse ", you would probably imagine candles of rustic looking labels - gingham tableclothes, wooden crates, old wood gates, farm markets, bales of hay etc. Nope, not so much. The labels are... Aztec print !  Odd choice but whatever. Maybe the scents will make up for it..you would think. Again, with the name "Farmstand", it conjures images of wares at a farmers markets - fresh, ripe fruits like strawberries or melons, jams/preserves, some warm apple pie. Or maybe something conceptual - fresh spring air, dewy green grass, wind-beaten wood. Once again, nope not so much. It's an amalgamation of random wtf-ery that have absolutely nothing to do with farmstands or Aztecs. The only new scent is.. Sunlit Cashmere - Moroccan Jasmine, Creamy Coconut, Orange Flower Blossom (sounds like White Jasmine  from L

In fact they smell completely different and not even close to what it used to smell like. So far, since last fall it has happened with four candles...    So the old Caramel Apple was a Slatkin era scent and was a popular fall staple in the late 2000s/early 2010s. After 2012, it completely disappear. Overall, it was a cute scent - very appley with a hint of pear, a brown sugar-y caramelliness and a hint of nuttiness; it legit smelled like caramel apple dipped in nuts The new CA.. not the same. It basically smelled like a spice-less Cider Lane..which was already out so what was the point of releasing something similar? Apple Garland was test scent from winter 2013; for whatever reason, the candle failed but the wf bulb went wide
