CANDLE RETROSPECTIVE: Brozeblogger's Top 20 Candles OF ALL TIME

Well dear readers, today's New Year's Eve - we're almost at the finish line and soon we'll be able to wave goodbye and not so fond farewell to the dumpster fire that was 2020. Normally, as per my own tradition, in honor of New Year's I would write a retrospective look back on the past year and list what I thought were the best new scents that were released. Obviously I couldn't do that this year - with the pandemic, I've been avoiding stores thus couldn't do my usual WALK N SNIFFs nor did I particularly buy very much as I'm not about that shipping/handling plus tax life. But as this this New Years hits a bit differently than past ones and is the beginning of a new decade, I thought I do something different. I thought I'd do a real retrospective and look back at some of my favorite scents spanning from my time as a review and as Bronzeblogger - some from now till back in 2013 when I started this blog. I'm gonna avoid seasonal rideordie loves l

Well dear readers, 2020 is almost over...thank gawd! Now that Christmas is over (which I hope everyone who celebrates had a relatively merry one), it is official spring at BBW...well all T all shade, it's been spring since Candle Day Weekend. Anyhoo, there's a crapton of stuff heading our way; some are already online and in store while the rest while be trickling in after SAS is over. Let's start talkin candle collections. Returning scents include  Watermelon Lemonade, Pink Apple Punch, Aloha Kiwi Passionfruit, Peach Bellini  and  Island Margarita . The one lone new scent is... Cookies & Cream Milkshake -  Chocolate Cookie Crumbles, Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, Chocolate Drizzle  (the consensus is this is basically Hot Cocoa & Cream mixed with Vanilla Bean Marshmallow

DROPPIN CANDLE KNOWLEDGE: 12 Smells of Christmas

If you were asked what are smells that make you think of Christmas or put you in the Christmas spirit, you'd most likely say pine, cinnamon, gingerbread, all things peppermint, eggnog, mulled wine. All home fragrance companies, BBW included, make it a point to make candles with these iconic Christmas smells to further put you into the spirit and maybe conjure some childhood memories as well. Christmas as well know it now has been congealed in our culture and society for decades with little to no deviation. That said, some traditions and foods and items once associated with Christmas have disappeared from common knowledge; something we have a vague idea what it was and why it might have been a thing back in the day but has little to no bearing on our culture and our modern interpretation of Christmas. That said, as far as home fragrance is concerned, things we associate with Christmas nowadays can be a bit limiting but adding more older traditions and associations can give a bit mor

DROPPIN CANDLE KNOWLEDGE: Bronzeblogger's Holiday/Winter Candle Collection

Image
As per my own tradition, as today is the official first day of winter, I thought I'd present my collection of holiday/winter candles.  So just like with my fall collection post, I'll talk about each one briefly (going a bit more in depth on the really old/rare ones) - give a bit of history and trivia and scent analysis. And I've placed links for the scents that I've already actually reviewed, so just click the name if you're interested. That said, let's start from the bottom and work our way up Holiday Pomander debut: 2009 This was a one hit wonder from the before times pre-Golden Era. Like I said in my review, I happened upon it online but because it was before the BBW candle fandom really became a thing, no one talked about it and certainly no one reviewed it. I always kept an eye open for one on the black market, eventually finding one and it quickly becoming a holiday fav. Like most scents from this backintheday era, it's a unique, complex, high end blend
