NEWNESS UPDATE: Holiday Online Exclusives *UPDATED

So over the weekend, lots of..well.."interesting" things popped up online...and when I say interesting, I'm being quite sarcastic. In addition to the "This Just In" candles (which should be in stores if you're willing to actually in one) so holiday candles appeared as online exclusives....don't get yourself excited as it bears the double whammy of being random and lame AF. At the moment there 11 "new" candles (I have heard that a few more will be added but that could be subject to change. There are 5 candles with clear tumblers with sort hand-drawn-esque Christmas scenes, similar to 2017 Camp Winter candles -  Apple Garland (not the failed test version , but the 2018 version that was basically a watered down Autumn) Chestnut & Clove  Salted Caramel Butterrum Eggnog  Snow Mountain Lodge The rest kinda look a little generic with clear tumblers with various sparkly looking Christmas cut out pictures - Balsam & Firewood (from last year )

DROPPIN CANDLE KNOWLEDGE/WALK N SNIFF-ISH REVIEW - Winter 2020 Candles ~ (Recent) Returning Scents

Ok, so in this post I'm gonna discuss returning scents that made their debut after The Golden Age i.e. after 2014 In case you missed it, here is Part 1 and here's the original WALK N SNIFF Review of this year's newness. Blueberry Sugar Debut: 2017 This one was always a headscratcher to me; I never really understand why this existed in the first place or why it became and remains so popular? And while I know actual blueberry sugar exists, why does it have to do with Christmas? What about it made BBW think it needs to be a holiday scent? Why are so many people ok with being bs'ed? So many unanswered questions. Honestly to me, it's not that great or novel or exciting of a scent; essentially it' Blueberry Twist sans the twist, ie the weird yogurt-y vanilla note. I guess it smells sugary, a little cotton candy-ish.  Caramel Drizzle Debut: 2019 There really isn't much too say about this one; it's just your typical BBW-ian caramel scent...with maybe a bit

DROPPIN CANDLE KNOWLEDGE/WALK N SNIFF-ISH REVIEW - Winter 2020 Candles ~ (Ol' School) Returning Scents

This post is mainly for any recent newbies to BBW with no recollection of their staple winter/holiday fares. Normally in my WALK N SNIFF REVIEWS, I focus on the new stuff with the expectation that my readers, old and new, already know what the returning staple smell like and so I don't have to waste time talking about them but that's not always the case. As I said in my last post/review, in my recent visit to BBW/WB, I only sniffed the new stuff as I didn't want to go touching and sniffing too much or store in the store longer than necessary, for obvious reasons. So far this review, I'm going strictly by scent memory for from experiences with these scents... so whether or not a scent's formulation has been tweaked or if the cold throw is weaker than years past, I couldn't tell you. Any scent that I have previously bought/burned/reviewed in the past, I'll link to the candle's name.  ADDENDUM: I did originally intend on writing one whole post but after re

NEWNESS UPDATE: Winter 2020 Candles ~ "This Just In" Collection *UPDATED

Thought we were done for Christmas and winter? Nope, not so much! News of an upcoming Christmas inspired collection appeared randomly in (test?) stores  and the buzz spread across social media like wildfire. So the collection is called "This Just In" ; the candles have wraparound gold labels with cutouts shaped like pine branches and snowflakes and Christmas bells and the candle names are in a white rectangle. I'm not what I think of the packaging; they're kinda cute-ish but they also like kinda cheap, like a knockoff BBW imitation brand. However the packaging ISN'T important, the scents themselve ARE! So I was in the middle of typing this up and writing my own repackage theories as per usual, but Tinadivalicious came out of nowhere beating everyone to the punch by getting his hands all but one these candles and posting a review vid with the quickness. So for this NEWNESS UPDATE, I'll post my initial thoughts and theories (as I already had them written down)

WALK N SNIFF (PANDEMIC EDITION): Winter 2020 Candles ~ Newness only

Image
You ever wake up and just felt that something momentous was gonna happen? Well yesterday (Saturday Nov. 7th depending on when you're reading this), I woke up to the news of Joe Biden winning the presidential election! So many emotions - relief, joy, comfort, excitement, optimism. After taking some deep breaths and taking the news in, in a split moment I decided in celebration to throw caution to wind and have a bit of an adventure...I was going to BBW/WB for the first time since the pandemic started! When I heard there was going to be wf refill sale, I hemmed-and-hawwed about actually going in person. Buying online is expensive and I really didn't want to spend extra money on shipping and handling for wallflowers that I might not end up liking. At least if I go in person, I can (as safely as possibly) sniff around and buy what I actually like. I had almost talked myself out of not going until Saturday morning when I heard the news which gave me a boost and some pep in my step
