NEWNESS UPDATE: Fall 2017 Test Scents Pt. 2
Oh you thought we done with testing fall scents? Think again! Thanks to my candle homegurl @tinybubblesfloating, we got to see even more fall test scents!
So the third testing collection is you standard fall collection with all of the fall fan favorites. Remember the infamous Times New Roman candles? Well imagine those but with fall scents instead and autumnal images on the labels. As usual BBW has found a gimmick and is running with it though it seems the marketing dept. learned their lesson and have opted for a (FF Trixie) typewriter font instead of Times New Roman. Anyhoo, there are 2 "new" scents in this collection...
Here's part 1 if you missed it!

As usual BBW has found a gimmick and is running with it though it seems the marketing dept. learned their lesson and have opted for a (FF Trixie) typewriter font instead of Times New Roman. Anyhoo, there are 2 "new" scents in this collection...
- Harvest Pear - Sweet Roasted Pear, Cinnamon Sugar Crumble, Freshly Whipped Buttercream (I am hoping and praying to the candles gods that this is my beloved Apple Crumble or something similar)
- Bonfire S'mores - Campfire Woods, Homemade Graham Cracker, Honey (this could be Pumpkin Fireside, maybe even Salted Oak Bonfire, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it's Toasted Graham Latte)
Returning scents include Autumn, Leaves, Sweater Weather, Sea Salt & Maple Popcorn, Marshmallow Fireside, Pumpkin Apple, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Cranberry Woods and Flannel
The fourth collection that's testing is fancy schmancy group of outdoorsy and/or woodsy smelling autumnal scents with wrap around polished wood textures to fit the woodsy/outdoorsy theme. All of you anti-cologney scents haters out there, this collection is not for you for there isn't a single bakery scent in this. Scents include...
- Autumn Woods - Dark Walnut, English Lavender, White Amber (Iced Vanilla Woods?)
- Vetiver Sandalwood - Vetiver Grass, Velvety Sandalwood, Warm Musk (Wild Vetiver/Vanilla Vetiver?)
- Bourbon Maple - Barrel-Aged Bourbon, Sugared Amber, Maple Wood (Caramel Woods? Sunkissed Maple? Sea Salt Bourbon Caramel)
- Golden Citrus - Sparkling Mandarin, Warm Cedar, Golden Amber (I wish this was the now forgotten Mountain Leaves but I think this might be Autumn Sunshine)
Here's part 1 if you missed it!
The Bonfire S'mores totally confuses me. The scent notes have nothing to do with marshmallow or chocolate, and then the image itself on the candle is of roasted marshmallows, but the notes are all about the graham cracker and the campfire? I don't know, it doesn't make sense to me at all. From the reviews I've seen so far, it's basically a repackage of Toasted Graham Latte with a honey note.
ReplyDeleteFrom what I've heard, it's totally not Toasted Graham Latte..which is great cuz it's gross lol But like you, I'm sorta baffled by it as well. Supposedly people are getting marshmallow especially after burning so it's kinda true to the name. I dunno, we'll see
DeleteI just discovered your blog, so I apologize if this information is covered elsewhere and I didn't see it. My all time favorite BBW candle is the caramel apple cider (or it's various iterations - warm caramel cider and I'm sure there are others). Do you happen to know why it's been gone for a few years now? I do enjoy Cider Lane, but it's just not the same as my beloved. Thank you in advance for any info you can give me. Your blog is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, thank you!
ReplyDeleteAs for Warm Caramel Cider (btw that scent has only been out once), unfortunately I don't have the answer to that question. Only BBW's marketing department can say for sure. It's always a mystery why certain scents don't return. My guess is they just forgot about it and since Cider Lane is a classic scent and more people are familiar with it, decided to bring that back instead. who knows...
