NEWNESS UPDATE: Winter 2019 Winter Candles Part 2

Ok, so I kinda dropped the ball on this one. I try to put out the list of scents ahead of time however the scents that I'll be discussing on this post is already online and should be slowly but surely slipping into stores - so yeah, I'm very tardy to the party. But to be honest, the upcoming collections are so underwhelming to me that I have had little to no motivation to talk about them. After seeing them online today, in  last minute "better late than never" moment, I decided to write about them. We've a lot to discuss to get comfy, wrap yourself in a blanket, heat up a cup of (spiked) hot cocoa or eggnog and let's get into these winter/holiday candles.

So it's not Christmastime at BBW without Holiday Traditions collection and this year is no exception. Most are returning holiday favs but there is one lone new scent...

Chocolate Peppermint Cream - Crushed Peppermint Candies, Creamy Chocolate, White Sugar Crystals (said to be repackage of Peppermint Brownie,; if so, why they changed the name to something vague and generic is anybody's guess)

Returning scents include Champagne Toast, Cherry Frost Fresh Balsam, Frosted Coconut Snowball, Frosted Cranberry, Spiced Gingerbread, Sugared Snickerdoodle, Tis The Season, Twisted Peppermint, Vanilla Bean Noel, and Winter Candy Apple

The next collection is sorta of winter holiday Sweet Shop-esque collection of bakery scents. There are 2 new scents..

Chocolate Lava Cake - Scrumptious Chocolate Cake, Gooey Cocoa Center, Powdered Sugar Dusting (this is NOT Hot Cocoa & Cream but similar vibe)

Pink Fairy Gumdrop - Sparkling Sugared Berries, Pink Cotton Candy, Sprinkle of Fairy Dust (this is NOT Pink Bubblegum/Girl Gang no is it Cotton Candy or Cotton Candy Marshmallow. It's a new scent but said to be similar to Gelato)

Returning scents include Cinnamon Caramel Swirl, Merry Cookie and Peppermint Marshmallow 

Next is a bunch of holiday inspired conceptual scents with oddly unseasonably painted on flowers. There are 3 new scents...

Praline Pecan & Cream - Roasted Apples, Sugared Chestnuts, Whipped Buttercream  (umm, wtf?! Those notes and that name do NOT match up)

Citrus & Spice - Bitter Orange, Fresh Clove, Soft Musk (Pomander? Spiced Sonoma Citrus?)

Cherry Mocha - Sweet Cherry, Decadent Chocolate, Whipped Cream (new scent)

Returning scents include Cinnamon & Clove Buds, Mahogany Balsam and Vanilla Birch 

Finally, we're getting a shit-ton of scents in the WB collection

First there seems to be a glittery New Years themed bunch (dunno if it's the official New Years' collection but it looks like it. Some have a rectangle name label in the middle surrounded by glittery designs/shapes or a cityscape with others have the name label at the bottom with the glitter on top. There's only one lone new scent

Caramel Drizzle (bottom label) - Sugar Cane Crystals, Melted Butter, Whisked Sweet Cream (supposedly smells like every other caramel scent at BBW)

Returning scents include
Rectangle with cityscape - Black Tie, Merry Mimosa, and Winter

Rectangle with glitter - Champagne Toast, Marshmallow Fireside, Sparkling Icicles and Vanilla Snowflake

Bottom label - Champagne Toast, First Frost, Party Dress, Party Dress, Peach Bellini, and Spiced Apple Toddy 

Next are just regular ol WB Core additions - some have frosted tumblers while the others are iridescent. There are 2 new scents

Cranberry Peach (frosted) - Sweet Peaches, Tart Cranberry, Sugared Musk (I wonder if this is Cranberry Peach Prosecco from that random Tuscan collection back in the summer)

Spiced Clementine (iridescent) - Fresh Clove Bud, Cinnamon Stick, Clementine Zest, Ground Ginger (Orange & Clove?)

The Perfect Christmas (iridescent) - Fresh Cut Pine, Cinnamon Sugar, Toasted Marshmallow (what's with this "The Perfect FILLINTHEBLANK" kick BBW is on lately?! Anyway, I'm really hoping this is a repackage or is similar to the very rare Vanilla Spice )

Returning scents include
frosted - Balsam & Firewood, Crushed Candy Cane, Winter and Tis the Season

iridescent - Evergreen

There's also Black Cherry MerNo, Fireside, Frosted Cranberry, Iced Vanilla Woods and Vanilla Balsam in shiny ombre tumblers...and they're being sold for...wait for it...$26.50... So umm, yeah...price increases may be lurking around the corner but that's a rant for another day!

So the next floorset is this coming Sunday (Oct. 27) so some of these should be out then. The full release (I believe) is next week (Nov 3). If I were you, I would wait until the 3rd so you can sniff everything. For my non-America friends, jump on Instagram or Facebook and wait to hear what folks say about these..or just wait for my WALK N SNIFF before you make any hasty 3rd party purchases.

Lastly, believe it or not, this is NOT it for winter; there is more. There's another bakery collection called the Land of Sweets with confections representing different countries and cities. There are also candles being back bought for Candle Day (beginning of December, don't know the exact date). And who knows what's being brought back SAS. So stay tuned!
